April 22, 2024, Narayanganj, Dhaka, Bangladesh: Workers skillfully embroider hand fans with brightly colored geometric shapes in Narayanganj, Bangladesh. They use bamboo and colorful yarn to create intricately designed fans. During hot summers, they give a cool breeze that helps when it's really hot outside in case of load shedding. Each worker makes up to 10 fans a day, with each fan being sold for around 1.20 USD at village fairs.
