After eight years of renovations, the Olomouc Zoo opened a giant aviary with African birds on June 13, 2025. Visitors can walk among the foreign feathered creatures. The zoo started the gradual renovation of the cage in the shape of a bundt cage, which is one of the largest aviaries in the Czech Republic, in 2018 and required an investment of CZK 4.55 million. In the sloping terrain of the central part of the zoo, the aviary measures nine to 15 metres in height and has a diameter of 45 metres. Birds can easily fly in the aviary thanks to its shape.
