Firenze, 2014. október 7.The main facade of the church of Santa Maria Novella, in the square of the same name in Florence. Construction began in 1246 by the Dominican friars Sisto and Ristoro. It was completed in 1360. Its facade was covered with white and green marble from 1300, the lower part of which is Gothic, and the upper part was transformed into a Renaissance style by Leone Battista Alberti in 1456. The bell tower, visible in the back left, was created by Fra Jacopo Talenti. Its famous interior chapels are decorated with paintings by many world-famous artists, including Ghirlandaio, Filippino Lippi, Masaccio, Bronzino, Brunelleschi and other works.
