R?ma, 2010. j?nius 1.The Capitol, the building of the Roman town hall on the top of the Capitol Hill. The building was built on the ruins of an ancient Roman Senate palace, the Tabularium. Its fa?ade was designed by Giacomo Della Porta and Girolamo Rainaldi between 1582-1605. Michelangelo designed the square and the two stairways leading up to the entrance, and he placed the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius in the center of the square between 1541 and 1554.
