IOS Round the Island Race is a clockwise circumnavigation of the Isle Of Sheppey in Kent (starting & finishing at Sheerness) held annually since 1959 and open to sailing dinghies, catamarans and sailboards and billed as the UK's longest race for all three types of craft at some 30-40 miles depending on wind & tides. An unusual feature of the race is at Kingsferry Bridge all craft have to capsize and walked underneath the bridge. 50 craft entered this year which is organised by IOS Sailing Club.
