Erik Nyström (1859–1938) was a Swedish missionary and professor active in China. This archival photograph from 1926 records a group assembled on the steps of Nyström’s residence in Taiyuan, Shanxi, during Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf’s visit to China; the prince later reigned as Gustaf VI Adolf (1882–1973). The historical photographic print documents participants including Louise Mountbatten, Olof Nordquist, and Johan Gunnar Andersson.
