Lest We Forget Mission WWII Bronze Pilot Sculpture New Orleans United States // NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — Fredric Arnold's bronze sculpture, "Lest We Forget: The Mission," stands on display at The National WWII Museum, depicting a squadron leader briefing a group of seated fighter pilots before a combat flight. Drawing from his personal experience as a surviving P-38 combat pilot in North Africa and Italy, Arnold created this seven-year project to honor the more than 88,000 U.S. airmen killed during the war.
