Arlington Memorial Bridge Gilded Bronze Equestrian Statues Washington DC United States // WASHINGTON DC, United States — Two gilded bronze equestrian statues stand atop granite pedestals flanking the eastern approach to the Arlington Memorial Bridge as vehicular traffic passes. Titled "The Arts of War," this pair of sculptures—comprising the figures "Valor" and "Sacrifice"—was designed by American sculptor Leo Friedlander.
