London, UK. 19th May 2026. Tapestry Of Trees, a Bayeux Tapestry-inspired installation from garden designer Andy Sturgeon, is displayed outside the British Museum. 37 silver birch trees with textiles around their bases make up the outdoor installation, intended to evoke the medieval woodland depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry at the time of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The installation comes ahead of the arrival of the Bayeux Tapestry at the museum later in the year. Credit: Vuk Valcic/Alamy Live News
