WASHINGTON DC, United States — An Elkskin Robe (ca. 1920) attributed to James White Calf (Blackfeet, ca. 1858-1970) displayed at the National Museum of the American Indian. The intricately painted hide records the war honors of Mountain Chief, a prominent Blackfeet leader known for battles against Sioux, A'aninin, Cree, and Assiniboine enemies.
