Geisenheim, Germany. 01st Sep, 2025. A statue of the 'late harvester' in the courtyard of Schloss Johannisberg is a reminder of the historic events of 1775. In the 18th century, it was customary for a courier from Johannisberg Castle to obtain the necessary harvest permit from Fulda at the time of the grape harvest. In 1775, the permit arrived late and only after the grapes were fully ripe at Schloss Johannisberg. The noble rot resulted in a particularly aromatic wine, the Spätlese. Munich, Germany. 29th Aug, 2025. Clouds drift over the Diana Temple in the courtyard garden and are reflected in a puddle. The summer in Germany has been warm, dry and excessively sunny for a long time. A 'relatively cool and extremely wet' July mitigated the dryness in the meantime, according to the German Weather Service (DWD) following initial evaluations of its approximately 2,000 measuring stations.
