13 August 2025, Saxony, Eilenburg: Animal park manager Carolin Otto from Eilenburg Zoo hangs ice cubes on a tree in the enclosure of the Ceylon monkey group (Macaca sinica). The ice cubes filled with cucumber, blueberries and grapes and the strawberry ice on a stick serve as treat refreshments to cool off in the midsummer temperatures. Lilo, the 12-year-old female great crested monkey, belongs to one of the last three groups of great crested monkeys living in Germany, with one sterilized male and three females.
