'Jupiter and Danae' is a painting by Joachim Wtewael (also spelled Utewael), created around 1595-1605. It depicts the mythological scene of Jupiter, in the form of a shower of gold, impregnating Danae, who is imprisoned in a tower by her father, King Acrisius. The painting is currently housed in the Louvre Museum in Paris. The dimensions of the painting are 205 x 155 cm, and it is an oil on canvas.-stock-foto
