London, UK. 25 July 2025. Junior doctors formed picket lines across the UK on Friday as part of a five-day strike over pay and working conditions. Outside St Thomas’ Hospital—directly across from the Houses of Parliament—doctors, NHS staff, and trade union supporters gathered in protest, chanting and holding placards aimed at the Labour government, which many accused of breaking promises on public sector pay. The British Medical Association (BMA), representing the striking doctors, is calling for a 29% pay rise to restore earnings to 2008 levels, citing a 20% real-terms pay cut over 17 years.-stock-foto
