London, UK. 21 April 2026. UK Weather – A great tit visits a bird bath in a garden in north-west London. The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) has advised that birds are not to be fed seeds and nuts (mealworms, fat balls or suet are allowed) between May and October to reduce the spread of trichomonosis, a parasitic disease transmitted more easily when birds cluster around feeders in the warmer months, and it is calling on people to clean and move their feeders weekly and, if they are providing water, to change it daily.
