A protester hugs a photograph of Ibrahim Kaypakkaya, one of the revolutionary leaders of Turkey's 68 generation during the demonstration. On the 12th anniversary of the 2013 Gezi Park protests, left-wing university students organized a march. On May 31st of 2013, the government intervened in the Gezi Park in Taksim Square in Istanbul and wanted to demolish it. However, there was a massive anti-government uprising. People have died in police crackdowns. The protests spread almost all over Turkey. Until June 16, the protests continued unabated. This was a very important turning point in recent T-stock-photo
