Over-lifesize bearded head wearing a conical helmet late 7th or early 6th century B.C. Cypriot The beard assumes a roughly rectangular shape. It is composed of four smooth strands separated by incised lines and rounded off at the bottom. The lips show a faint smile. The short wide nose and the stiff mouth have been partially restored in plaster. The eyeballs, that which protrude more at the top than below, are in the shape of half-moons; the arch of the eyebrows follows that of the upper eyelids. Trial Piece with Relief of Head of Akhenaten ca. 1353–1336 B.C. New Kingdom, Amarna Period The slanting slitted eye, heavy everted lips, and drooping chin here recognizably signify the pharaoh Akhenaten.This piece is a 'sculptor's model' from Amarna. Such models are roughly rectangular slabs of stone on which the representation is theorized to be a master's model for his assistants to follow while decorating a wall with relief or, alternatively, an apprentice's study piece. Offering table from the mortuary temple of Amenemhat I ca. 1981–1952 B.C. Middle Kingdom This imposing offering table was found at the west end of a passage just outside the northern wall of the pyramid temple of King Amenemhat I at Lisht North. It must have been placed there by the quarrymen who - most probably in Ramesside times - dismantled the temple. Originally, the offering table presumably stood in the open court of the temple, its roughly shaped lower part (now removed) sunken into the ground.
