An isolated chromolithograph collector's card issued by Chocolat Guérin-Boutron, circa 1912, featuring the RMS Titanic as part of the "Marine Marchande" series. The French text provides technical specifications of the White Star Line vessel and notes its sinking on its maiden voyage. This vintage trade card serves as a primary example of early 20th-century commercial memorialization following the maritime disaster.-stock-foto

The Earliest Surviving Example of Jatorn Stampioen's Star Chart and Celestial Calcula Nice example of Claes Jansz Vooght's rare celestial chart, published by Johannes Van Keulen in Amsterdam for Claes Jansz Vooght. Vooght's chart illustrates the stars visible from 52 degrees latitude in a polar equidistant projection. Though designed for use at a latitude of 52 degrees, the text suggests it remains accurate from 49 to 55 degrees, which would allow its use through much of northern Europe. The circular border around the image of the heavens includes scales with technical data. The chart il-stock-foto

Brandenburg, Frankfurt 19 September 2024, (Oder): A mobile flood protection wall stands on the German-Polish border river Oder.
