Batman,Turkey. 11th December 2025. A pair of white storks in Turkey's Batman region remained in their nesting grounds for the first time ever, instead of embarking on their annual migration. Locals report that the birds stayed throughout the season, a sight they've never seen before for a species known for its long-distance migration. It's suggested that surrounding climate conditions and increasing food scarcity may have contributed to this. Credit: Doğan Evsan / Alamy Live News-stock-foto
