Eton, UK. 16th March, 2026. Scaffolders at work at Cotton Hall. Eton College are to build a new boarding house for 55 pupils plus staff in the grounds of the famous public boarding school in Eton, Windsor, Berkshire. It will mean the demolition of two cottages, Briary Cottage and Briary End. Sadly 29 trees at the site will also be felled in the process. The refurbishment of the adjacent existing Cotton Hall Boarding House (pictured) has already started. The current annual fees to attend the all boys public boarding school are over £63k. After around 50 years of uninterrupted operation, the drinking water reservoir in eastern Saxony is now being completely renovated. To this end, the reservoir has been completely emptied since fall 2024. Work on the dam crest has been underway since May and the extraction tower is now being renovated.
